Golf Courses in the Azores
The golf course in Furnas, São Miguel, was the first to be created in the Azores. The first nine holes were laid out in 1936 and then the course was extended in 1992 to a 18 hole course. Regarded as a challenging but peaceful course, Campo do Golfe das Furnas is set amidst japanese cedar trees and has views over the Furnas valley.

Furnas is situated on the north coast of São Miguel, close to the capital Ponta Delgada. This is a 27 hole course, offering the player the choice of different combinations to make up the 18 holes. This course provides sweeping views of the ocean and peaceful woodland scenery.
The course in Terceira is considered the easiest of the Azores golf courses to play. An 18 hole course with wide fairways, low hills and few bunkers. The Terceira Island Golf Club is located a few kilometres from Angra do Heroísmo and Praia da Vitória, on Terceira Island.
